WBI at the HomeWalk 2009
On an early Saturday morning, WBI students and staff gathered under the overcast skies at the Historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum located in Exposition Park to be part of a wonderful cause. It was the United Way HomeWalk 2009 fundraising event to assist the homeless.

It Was a Spooky and Fun Halloween 2009
During the month of October, the students and staff prepared for the creepiest day of the year. It was another Halloween celebration at Western Beauty Institute. WBI students and staff from our Lancaster and Panorama City campuses put on another spooky display of costumes. There was music, contests, and unforgettable moments.

WBI Offers $1000 Barber Scholarship
Western Beauty Institute is offering an exciting incentive for those considering pre-enrolling in our day and night Barbering course. Now through the end of the year, WBI will award a $1000 barbering tuition scholarship to all newly enrolled students only. The Barbering study program covers all phases of Barbering, Hair cutting, Styling, Shaving, Facials, Hair Waving, Hair Coloring, and much, much more!

WBI Students Win Several Barristar Awards
Western Beauty Institute's gifted students continue to make the academy proud. Once again, several students took home awards from the 2009 Barristar Beauty School Forum student trade show and competition, which was held on Sunday, September 20th and Monday, September 21st in Pasadena, California

Nail Technology Course Begins at WBI
Western Beauty Institute is proud to begin its exciting day and night courses in the field of Nail Technology. The Manicuring Program which covers all phases of Manicure and Pedicure services will be taught at both the Panorama City campus out in the San Fernando Valley and the Lancaster campus located in the Antelope Valley.

Another Look at the 2009 SuperSunday Event
Western Beauty Institute takes pride in allowing our students the opportunity to shine. Back on May 31st, 2009, WBI was one of many beauty and cosmetology schools to participate at the 2009 SuperSunday styling event. However, WBI sparkled in the spotlight, receiving honorable mention and 2nd place in the SuperStyle Competition.

WBI Students and Staff Volunteer in Mayor Villaraigosa's Day of Service
On June 27th, 2009, Western Beauty Institute's Students and Staff were offered a chance to participate in Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa's Day of Service. Rachel Reynoso, Placement Director for the San Fernando Valley campus said, "They contacted me and asked us to volunteer for the Day of Service." CEO, Ms. Christina Diaz loved the Day of Service idea and accepted the invitation. WBI was the only beauty school selected by the city to be a part of this honored event.

Here Are the Beautiful WBI Brides
On Thursday June 25th, the Western Beauty Institute at the San Fernando Valley campus hosted a couple of wedding day competitions. Students had to gather their best bridal fashion ideas since this was all about that special unforgettable day. The cosmetology school event was held in a two-part contest, the Fantasy Bridal Competition and the Bridal Competition.

WBI Goes Hollywood For A Day
They rolled out the red carpet and the entertainment's industry most famous celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Marilyn Monroe, singer David Cook, Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany's, Sandra Bullock, even Octomom and many others shined at the Western Beauty Institute. Of course we are talking about look-a-likes.

WBI Teams up with Murad
Recently, Western Beauty Institute partnered with Murad, Inc. to bring to our students and customers to the exclusive Western Beauty Institute Skin Care Center and Spa the finest skin care products developed by Dr. Murad.

Students/Alumni Job Resumes To Go Online
Creating a good resume can be a daunting task. Getting it "out there" can also be difficult. Here at Western Beauty Institute, we've now made these tasks much easier for our students. We've set aside a special area of our student portal website, myWBI(tm), to publish student and alumni resumes, complete with instructions and tips on how to do it right.
